Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get involved, and what kinds of help do you need?

Welcome! There is no sign up or registration — you can just show up any given Monday at Bannock Street and 14th Avenue (in front of Denver City Hall) from 4-7pm, rain or shine and regardless of holidays. There are many needs and roles, to suit all interests, skills and availability!

We start setup at 3:30pm, and can always use help with unloading and situating equipment and supplies, setting up lighting (in fall/winter). Other tasks at the MAM weekly gathering include: food service, clothing sorting/hanging on racks, staying on top of trash pickup and disposal, helping with break-down and packing up.

Outside of the weekly gathering, there is much to do and many options, including joining one of our work groups (food for MAM meal, fundraising, social media, clothing donation management, and more). Also, taking responsibility for a specific task, like bringing home and washing our serving implements, and bringing clean ones to MAM meal at event set up, being available for donation pickups and delivery requests as they arise.

Do you have an orientation?

We do have newcomer orientation every 1st Monday 6pm at our event, which is recommended, but not required to get started. We look forward to meeting you!

What sorts of in-kind donations do you accept?

Ready-to-serve food for our weekly meal is always welcome year-round. Seasonally, the top needs include:

FALL/WINTER: Adult size parkas, coats, warm layers (tops and bottoms), warm hats/beanies, gloves, socks, boots, blankets, comforters, sleeping bags, tarps, and tents.

SPRING/SUMMER: Adult size summer clothes (tee shirts, shorts, sweatpants, shoes, socks, baseball caps, etc.

If you have other donations you'd like to drop off please contact us.

The weather is looking poor will you still be there?

Yes! Whether it is raining, snowing, sunny, or below freezing, Mutual Aid Monday will be working with the community every Monday from 4:00pm - 7:00pm.

Were do I park?

Doing a quick donation/supplies drop off but not staying? You can briefly pull into the crosswalk at 14th Ave & Bannock Street, and bring donations to the tent marked with a donations sign. If you need help unloading, call on any of us!

Staying to help and distro? Unloading and Packing Out: You may unload and pack out supplies on Bannock Street. However, once this is complete, all MAM-related vehicles must be relocated. You may face a parking ticket, if your vehicle is not moved after unloading or packing up at breakdown
